About Dr. Mirkazemi
Dr. Mirkazemi is your vein specialist at Dearborn Vein Center. He has been practicing general surgery in the Detroit Metro area for over 20 years and has specialized in the latest minimally invasive treatments of venous insufficiency (the condition that results in varicose veins and spider veins) for the past five years. He is a passionate practitioner of his field who has been heavily involved in teaching medical residents ever since graduating. Beyond treating varicose and spider veins, Dr. Mirkazemi performs gastrointestinal, hernia and breast surgeries using less invasive laparoscopic and robotic techniques.
EDUCATION
Mehran Mirkazemi DO FACOS received his medical degree from the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed his internship at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California and went on to complete his general surgery residency training at Garden City Hospital in Garden City, Michigan. Dr. Mirkazemi also holds a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry from the University of Massachusetts.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Dr. Mirkazemi began practicing in the Detroit Metro area in 1996. His interests and experience include the latest minimally-invasive treatments for the underlying conditions responsible for varicose and spider veins as well as gastrointestinal, breast, gynecological and hernia surgeries via less invasive laparoscopic and robotic techniques. Dr. Mirkazemi volunteers regularly for several community health programs.
CERTIFICATIONS & AFFILIATIONS
Dr. Mirkazemi is a current member of the American Osteopathic Association and American Medical Association and a member and fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. He is certified by the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.
